Phu Dong festival
Many places in Hanoi that have tradition of organizing festival to conmemorate Thanh Dong consist of Phu Dong, Chi Nam (Gia Lam), Xuan Dinh (Tu Liem), den Soc (Soc Son). Among them, Dong carnival in Phu Dong (Gia Lam, Ha Noi) is regarded as the most well-organized, fascinating one. Main period is on April 9th of lunar calendar. A couple of days before that, April 6th is the day when “receving water from the well in front of Mau palace” ceremony takes place.
Ai ward celebrates some dancing performances. Many battles are also performed to recall us of Dong picture when he was fighting and then we may discover his talent of struggle. Flag pitching, victory celebration, heaven thanking and some fascinating games are also included in the program of this festival occasion.
