Ha Noi is a land of thousands of year literature, a big cultural center of Viet Nam. Being an ancient land that has been discovered for a long time, Ha Noi has a variety of prominent features. Many kinds of cultural carnivals are still preserved in Ha Noi. Moreover, this is a place where there are many legends of heroes that remind us of courageous, persistent tradition of country. Some typical festivals taking place annually are Le Mat, Phu Dong, Thi Cam blowing thi rice, Dong Nhan palace, etc.

Le Mat festival
Le Mat, nowadays, is situated in Viet Hung ward, Long Bien district. Every year, local people organize their festival on March 23th of lunar calendar so as to conmemorate Hoang Duc Trung. The one who contributed so much to the country at that time and was given a big land to set 13 farms. Also in festival, there is a game called snake dancing to venerate the snake catching and breeding work in this place.
In addion, Le Mat is an occasion when people have a chance to come back to where they were born, to recollect the history of building village with so much difficulties and challenge and to have a family reunion together with show their gratitide to forefather.
