Co Loa Temple festival

This festival takes place in Dong Anh, in Ha Noi suburb. People organize it with a time of ten days, from Jan 6th to Jan 16th of lunar calendar (the chief part of festival is on Jan 6th) in order to conmemorate Thuc Phan An Duong Vuong, the one who inherited throne from the 18th Hung King.

He contributed to put Co Loa citadel and the period of his rule is 50 years in the 3th century BC. In this festival occasion, there are many activities which remind us of some ancient legends, including alive King greeting ceremony, preserving sword ceremony in Sai temple, co bong…

After “Thang Long fire dragon” welcome activity, there is time for incense sending and literature reading ceremony. Besides, Dong Da festival is the occasion where people have a chance to participate in many kinds of games requiring talents, intelligence and those are organized in historial Dong Da mound.
